AGRIBUSINESS COMMITTEE

The Agribusiness Committee is premised on the belief that agriculture is a vital element in the success of Georgia's economic progress. The Committee is made up of AmCham members in the food growing and processing sector as well as the large corporate consumer like retailers, restaurants and hotels and some of the development organizations working to improve the sector. Our goal is to facilitate discussion between the private sector, governments and NGOs on developments in the sector.

Together with the committee members we have identified areas of activities we would like the committee to work on:

• farm production;
• food-connected businesses;
• local sourcing.

In addition, the AmCham Agribusiness Committee will follow all other important developments in agricultural sector of Georgia. If you have interesting ideas to share with the committee, just let us know and we will gladly look into them. We welcome any collaboration that fosters the development of the agricultural sector in Georgia.

Recent Activity

2020-04-02 Agribusiness Committee meeting The Agribusiness committee met to discuss the current situation in Georgia and how it is affecting food production. The group discussed their current circumstances and the challenges of finding and managing workers, difficulties with input supply and how the government is responding to the situation in the short and long-term. The committee agreed to meet again in two weeks.
