Below is a list of AmCham member companies' contributions to the fight against COVID-19, arranged in alphabetical order. Note: if you represent an AmCham member company and would like your contribution listed here, please contact Nini Kapanadze and include a description of your activities.
Adjara Group – has given the Tbilisi Holiday Inn to the government for quarantine pur-poses. With several other companies, Adjara Group has established the Ertianoba plat-form [Georgian for Unity], which aids people in need by providing them with essential medical and food products delivered by volunteers that register on the platform.
APM Terminals Poti – has donated 100,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Bank of Georgia – has bought 20,000 laboratory tests, 10 breathing apparatus, 50,000 masks and 60,000 gloves, which will be given to the Ministry of Health to continue the fight against the virus effectively.
BDO – has created a COVID-19 crisis response page, which offers online tools such as tax and legal newsletter for business to help them better manage the impact, an interactive map providing an overview of global government measures and other resources
British American Tobacco – ordered 1,000 face shields – 300 for journalists and cameramen and 700 for emergency doctors.
Batumi International Container Terminal – donated 150,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Caucasus Online – donated 1,000,000 GEL
CENN – assisted ethnic minorities in quarantine zone (Kvemo Kartli) to obtain information about the COVID-19 pandemic in the region. Distributed guidelines in the Azerbaijani and Armenian language among the population. Provided residents in Kvemo Kartli quarantine zone with safety masks, sanitizers. Conducted broad information and awareness raising campaign on social media, via webinars. Implementation of rapid grants programs for communities, groups and organizations to respond to the COVID-19 crisis in Keda and Tsalka municipalities.
Coca-Cola – supplies quarantine spaces with products throughout the country, donated 240,000 GEL to Georgia Red Cross Society to assist in its anti-coronavirus efforts
Dentons – has launched a Coronavirus Hub to address the challenges clients face and to provide feedback on questions received.
Efes Brewery in Georgia – donated 50,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Element Construction - donated 20,000 GEL to the StopCov Fund
Georgian American University – donated 10,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund, and is sup-porting three charities to assist the socially vulnerable. Delayed tuition for students facing financial hardship until July 2020.
Gazelle Finance – has established a three-month full grace period for companies directly affected by the crisis, and a technical assistance facility for companies that need to cover immediate cash flow deficits.
Georgian Industrial Group – donated 300,000 GEL to StopCoV
Georgian Retailers Association – donated 700 face shields for doctors
GeoSteel LLC – donated 150,000 GEL to StopCOV, donated 100 large oxygen cylinders to the Ministry of Health
Grand Gloria – has given the Hotel Batumi for quarantine
Gulf Georgia – established fund platform: ekimebistvis (Georgian, for doctors), which donates 5 tetri of liter of gas sold to helping medical professionals during the crisis. 90,000 GEL had been collected in the fund as of April 1. Gulf is also providing fuel for the transportation of Ertianoba volunteers.
Heidelberg Cement – has purchased 15,000 PCR tests for the National Center for Disease Control.
Hydrolea LLC – donated 40,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Liberty Bank – allocated 100 million GEL to pay April pensions for retirees aged 70 and over in advance
Lomisi - donated 50,000 GEL to the StopCov Fund.
Maqro Construction – donated 100,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund.
Marriott Hotel – has given the Moxy Hotel venue for quarantine
Mastercard – covering the transportation costs of medical personnel in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi of clinics and hospitals that are treating coronavirus patients
Mercure – the Ibis Hotel has been given to the government for quarantine purpos-es
M Square – donated 100,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Nexia TA – launched 'Move on Georgia' project, consisting of free webinars and consulting to support the community and businesses to maintain activeness
Orient Logic – donated 20,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
PMI – donated 100,000 GEL to the StopCoV Fund
Radisson Park Hotel Tsinandali – was one of the first hotels to give its premises to the government for quarantine purposes
Ramada Encore Tbilisi – has offered hotel for quarantine if needed
Red Cross – delivering food and hygienic items to the elderly and socially vulnera-ble
SavvY – has prepared an online platform https://supportbusiness.ge/ where all interested parties can record the problems and challenges their businesses are facing
Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace – is giving its premises venue for quaran-tine
Silknet – donated 1,000,000 GEL to StopCoV Fund
TBC Bank – has committed 5 million GEL for social assistance initiatives, distance education and the dissemination of digital technologies. The bank has purchased 161 laptops for students to tune into distance classes, and has also bought 10,000 coronavirus rapid tests
UGT – donated 50,000 GEL to the StopCov Fund
US Embassy – The United States is providing $1.1 million in health funding to Georgia to help prepare laboratory systems, activate case-identification and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication
Wissol Group – is providing food stuffs to the socially vulnerable and elderly in Tbilisi, in addition to providing volunteers from the Megobari movement with fuel for transportation needs.
