CSR Committee Meeting

AmCham's CSR committee convened on May 29 to discuss partnership opportunities with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia regarding planned events to mark the World Environment Day. World Environment Day, which is celebrated every year throughout the world on June 5th, aims to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action.

The planned events include: picking up trash Tbilisi and in the regions; media tours; eco car test driving; and presentation of progress on the strategy and law of waste management. AmCham CSR committee has agreed to join efforts and help pick up trash in Tbilisi.

Intellectual Property Rights was also discussed during the meetin. Margarita (insert last name), the committee chair, briefed members on AmCham's role worldwide in the development of IPR which includes the establishment of IPR committees, provision of recommendations to companies and the government, organization of IPR events etc. The discussion mostly focused on the ubiquitous usage of illegal software in the country and various ways AmCham can help improve the situation.
