AmCham Labor Relations Committee MeetingAmCham Briefs Members on Draft Changes to the Labor CodeTuesday, May 28, 2013  AmCham Georgia President Sarah Williamson, Board Member Lasha Gogiberidze, and AmCham Director Amy Denman explained the major changes expected in the labor code when the parliament votes on the final draft this month.
The draft law, currently in its second reading in the parliament, will impact businesses and labor relations in a number of areas. AmCham, along with other business associations, has worked closely with the government and the parliament to create a new labor code that is beneficial for all sides.
At the meeting, Gogiberidze, the director of BGI Legal, outlined major changes to the labor code and how they could affect businesses. The issue of fixed contracts, shift work, overtime, and relations with labor unions were covered.
